Austin 7 or Austin 10

[edit]

The British government database gives the car's cc as 870 cc.

As far as I remember, fiscal hp was a function of a cars bore or possibly of its stroke. So by getting hold of the formula in question and mixing it with Pi along with the known small Austin four cylinder engines around at the time (surely there won't be too many...) it would probably be possible to resolve beyond reasonable doubt whether this was an Austin 7 or an Austin 10. (Or maybe someone already knows the answer from reliable sources?) And of course, one is still dependent on the quality of the inputs, including the British government records concerning the engine size.....Now my head hurts: need breakfast.
