Atalante or Atlas ?

[edit]

Until now this picture was categorized in "Category:Atalanta". I am quite sceptical about the identification of this statue as depicting the Greek heroin Atalanta, because it is here obviously a man (and a bearded one at that). I think the name of the file, "Atalante", is either erroneous or refers to what we call in French an "Atlante" (= people from Atlantis), a name used in architecture to refer to male statues bearing balconies or pillars or other architectural elements of the same kind. The closest thing I could find in English is the Titan Atlas. I took the liberty of changing categories, but do not hesitate to correct this if you find a better solution. --Eunostos (talk) 19:05, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
