Remarks to content map

[edit]

This project characterizes the area (geographical features of distribution) archaeological sites Trypillian culture for all time of its existence in Ukraine. Map will be more illustrative if the archaeological sites will be displayed in other countries - Moldova and Romania. The author has no such information. I am an archaeologist studying the Cucuteni-Tripolye culture (along with some colleagues in NANU) and am interested to know if you would be willing to share the raw data your map is drawn from. I began to work with the register from the encyclopedia for some weeks before finding this map. I study the space-time development of the Neolithic populations of Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania, so settlement data (spatial coordinates and all available metadata) are very important to my work. Does your dataset include notes on the chronological periods and settlement sizes, or is it just the site locations? If you are willing to share the raw data, I would of course give credit to you (in addition to the original authors) in the text of my research. Also, I have a dataset of several hundred Romanian and Moldovan sites which I could share. Sincerely, Thomas.K.Harper (talk) 19:38, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
