I very much doubt that the mineral in the "chrysanthemum stone" illustrated here is andalusite as labeled. It is almost certainly celestite, which commonly forms the flower-like clusters in the fine-grained black matrix rock (black limestone or shaley (marly) limestone) from China. Some andalusite ("chiastolite") crystals can have a somewhat bladed, radiating appearance slightly resembling the "chrysanthemum stones", but this example is really not one of them. -- Pete Modreski, Denver CO
