The angel thing is Persian. Abram himself met three angels at his tent in the Book of Genesis. Angels are ancient metaphors and I figure she saw the Ambrosian Iliad (c. 500 A.D.) in Milan. But, the question is what did angels mean to Raphael et aliae 1000 years later. Remember, St. Ambrose himself was upset with a statue of Nike in the Roman Forum.

Cybrarian's note, If u were arranging pictures for me, u would just slop them all together on the artist's picture page and I would just scan the page for the story for which I am looking. (Three girls and a lake.) Not a big problem. The Web Gallery of Art search function does that job for me. (A WGA search "Baptism of Christ" yields 161 pictures.) (A WGA search "muse" yields 13254 pictures!)
