Is the baby indeed Missy? We have two reliable sources. Royal Collection in this file says the baby is Prince Alfred ("Young Affie"). If the date from Royal Collection is correct, the image shows the nine month old Alfred. Is this possible?

If the claim from the National Portrait Gallery, London is correct, then it is the one or two month old Princess Marie ("Missy").

C’est bien le prince Alfred, on peut noter que le front est plus bombée que celui de sa sœur. En bas, l’avant-dernière image, Alfred ressemble clairement au bébé. De plus, d’après certains, la photo était dans la collection de la reine Victoria avec la mention « juill 75 ». Missy est née en octobre 1875. 74.15.126.94 21:40, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
