I don't think the species is identified correctly in this photo, can someone help? It looks more like Curculio sp. to me, but I'm not good with beetles.

Hmm, based on a Google image search, I would have to agree. The proboscis of A. grandis is thicker and straighter, and sits a little higher on the head. It definitely looks like a Curculio to me too. I will go ask on http://bugguide.net/ howcheng {chat} 16:23, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
