Translation of 'vliegveld'

[edit]

Just a nitpick, but Ockenburg, Valkenburg and Ypenburg were airfields at the time, not airports. Dutch has tendency of calling small airports, even with paved runways 'vliegveld' but this isn't the case in English ('airport' means the same as the Dutch 'luchthaven' exclusively). Valkenburg and Ypenburg later became air bases, Ockenburg was never restored from the war damage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lekkere Kwal (talk • contribs) 17:24, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
