[edit]

The ship on the right is a Design 577 oiler. There were nine of them made, but three of them were exported to Indonesia in the 1960s, leaving six. There is a photo of the Sheksna taken the same day as this photo at File:A starboard bow view of the Russian Uda-class replenishment oiler SHEKSNA.jpg (which is flipped since the lettering is backward); while similar the crane in the bow area is painted different colors than this photo, so it can't be that ship. But, it would presumably be a ship that could participate in the same exercise. The Sheksna was in the Baltic Fleet. Of the other ships, the Dunay and Vishera were in the Pacific Fleet, and the Koida was in the Black Sea Fleet, making it unlikely to be them. The Terek was in the Northern Fleet, so maybe, but photos seem to show that ship does not have a large crane in the bow area, so would appear to not be that ship. That would leave the Lena, which was the other ship of the class in the Baltic Fleet, and which did have the large crane. Not many photos available to be sure, but seems like it would have to be that ship. Carl Lindberg (talk) 03:59, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
