@Rémih: are you really sure that in the background, Vogar is visible? The fissure rather points towards Reykjavík, or at least its western suburbs. If you compare File:Iceland Volcano Eruption 19 December 2023.jpg, you can see that Vogar is situated further west (left). --Kuhni74 (talk) 14:21, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

- Considering the disposition of the fissures, the view is toward the south so it might be Grindavik instead of Vogar. Rémih (talk) 14:42, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, that may be right. And what's more, it's reasonable to assume that the wind was blowing from the western direction on both photographs. Since the smoke is blown to the left on this picture, it has to be the view towards south. --Kuhni74 (talk) 14:53, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
