Date and location

[edit]

I'm quite positive this is the Banque de l'Indochine office. The arches of the windows and doorway match other photos of the building, as do the Ionic capitals. While the Google Arts & Culture caption says 1907/1927, the actual caption from the exhibition says the photo is from the reign of King Vajiravudh (1910–1925), so the dating seems uncertain. The calendar on the column says Jun 6 Friday, so candidate years would be 1913, 1919, 1924, and 1930. The poster on the far-side wall is a travel ad by the Bureau Officiel du Tourisme de Hué; a reverse image search reveals copies printed in 1928 and 1935, so 1930 is probably the most likely date. There may have been earlier printings, but I doubt they'd be from as early as the 1910s. The typewriters may provide further clues, though I'm not knowledgeable in the area. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:43, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
