| Description |
English: Arms of Zouche of Harringworth, as traced from a photograph of c.1355 sculpted stone escutcheon on exterior of north gable-end of priests' house of Cantilupe Chantry, Lincoln Cathedral. Even after correction of perspective, the bezants are not sculpted symmetrically to the shield and are shown here exactly as they appear. Apparently the bezants were positioned by using criss-crossing guide-strings and a compass as they are arranged in a grid pattern. The canton is very large, more like a quarter. |
