Centsprent met 3 x 4 houtsneden met afbeeldingen uit Cesare Ripa's 'Iconologia of Uytbeeldinghe des verstands (Amsterdam 1644): emblematische voorstellingen van gevaar, getemde liefde (Cupido met zandloper, vogeltje, boog, pijlkoker en een uitgebluste fakkel), overvloed, welsprekendheid, edelheid (een weergave van vrouwe Philosophia met in de rechterhand drie boeken en in de linkerhand een scepter), kuisheid (castigo corpus = zelfkastijding), genoegen, kunst, overwinning, straf, een kort leven. Bevat tweeregelige rijmende onderschriften.
