Wealth is useless without wis-dom to use it. Hereare two thousandguldens. Go. Peter returnedhome. At the frol-ics at the inn, hesurpassed the Kingof Dancers in danc-ing, and he washailed with greatadmiration by theyoung. He beganto gamble at theale-houses, and wasable to produce asmuch money as FatHesekiel himself.People wondered.He next ordered aglass factory to bebuilt, and in a fewmonths Peter Munkwas rich and famousand envied. Peoplesaid he had found ahidden treasure. But Peter didnot know how to usehis money. Hespent it at the ale-house ; and at last,when the money in the pockets of Fat Hesekiel, for some reason, was low, he was unable to pay his debts, and the bailiffs came to take him to prison. In his troubles he resolved to go again into the deep forest, and seek the aid of the forest gnomes.
