Description
English:  : Zichy Manor or Zichy Mansion, Szentlélek square side. Listed ID 15722. This is the most noteworthy sight on the Fő (Main) Square. It was remodelled between 1746 and 1756 by Count Miklós Zichy from the former modest rustic villa to a count’s residence. Place was found in the manor for a reception hall, suites for count and countess, a gun-room and a library. This has an ornamental Baroque park also. Maria Theresa also visited this residence in 1751. After 1758, used as a manor. Some parts of its subsequently demolished, and the manor was used as a military clothing store and tobacco warehouse. Renovated in the 1970s and '80s. Today there are museums (Óbuda Museum, Kassák Museum, Vasarely Museum), as well as the Open Air Theatre.
