Description

English: In classical mythology, the Milky Way was born from the drops of milk that leaked from Hera's breast as she suckled Heracles, son of Zeus and Alcmena. Zeus, taking advantage of the goddess' sleep, attached his son Heracles to his breast because only by sucking milk from the breast of the mother of the gods could the demigod gain immortality. The son of Zeus, however, clutched one of the goddess's breasts with too much force, waking Hera and causing some of the milk to spurt into the sky.

Thus was created the galaxy, called the Milky Way by the Greeks.
