Summary

[edit]
Description

English: Springtime on the plain “Heufeld”, middleSwabian Alb, Schichtflächenalb. In the back the butte Kornbühl, a Naturschutzgebiet, topped by a small pilgrimage chapel (not seen). The plain is the largest closed area of the so called “Schichtflächenalb”, which borders to the Alb’s cuesta. The Schichtflächenalb is the heavily denuded lower part of the upper lithostratigraphic unit of the South German Jurassic (ox2). The slope of the butte is a Juniper heath, occasionally grazed by sheep.
