[edit]DescriptionZenza Bronica ETRS with Bronica Zenzanon 75mm f2.8 EII lens.jpg |
Step up from my previous medium format cameras (Isolette III, Iskra). Completely new world for me. Bronica is built like a watch, not like russian tank (Iskra). Compact, lightweight. Everything works smoothly, quietly (maybe except mirror :) ). Viewfinder will take some time to get acquainted, left-right reversion is a bit confusing. Love the green stripe (maybe I should get a Pentax?) Whole ETR(S, SI) system uses "in-lens" central shutter. This has some advantages (x-sync at all times, a bit quieter shutter), and some disadvantages (1/500 top speed, non-system lens cannot be used with ETR line bodies, system lenses are not as fast as those without shutter). Competitive Mamiya 645 uses focal plane shutter - so if you need possibility to attach eg. PentaconSix lens - go for Mamiya. Camera takes 15 photos, each one sized 6 by 4.5 (landscape orientation). Weight with 75 kit lens, standard back and waist level finder is about 1.5kg. For look from the other side, go here. |
