Français : Cette gravure montre un panorama de la ville Genève vu de l'ouest. Au premier plan le Rhône et ses moulins, à gauche les vignes du coteau de Saint-Jean. Sur la droite les bâtiments et terrains où on s'exerçait au tir (Coulouvrenière, Tirage, Grenadiers, n°34-36). Les fortifications s'étendent sur toute la largeur du panorama, le bastion de Saint-Jean sur la rive droite du Rhône (n°3), puis sur la rive gauche les bastions de Hollande (n°7), Bourgeois (n°16), Yvoi (n°17), Pin (n°19) et Saint-Léger (n°20), avec le pont de la Porte Neuve (n°15). L'alignement des bâtiments de la Corraterie puis de la ville haute (rue des Granges, rue de l'Hôtel de ville) domine les murailles et jardins de Plainpalais. À l'arrière plan les montagnes des Voirons (n°25), du Môle (Maule, n°27), du Salève (n°28) et plus au fond les Alpes (n°29). |
