Description
Deutsch: Karl Ludwig von Zanth: Terrakotta-Fries, Entstehungsjahr 1856, Stuttgart, Wilhelma, Mauer des Wandelgangs an der Neckartalstraße. Ausschnitt: Teil des zentralen Medaillons. Dem achteckigen zentralen Medaillon eines Frieselements ist ein Rundmedaillon mit einem Lorbeerkranz (wie in der Abbildung) oder einen Eichenkranz einbeschrieben. Das Rundmedaillon wird von einem Kymation und einem intermittierenden Anthemion (Lotos-Palmettenband) eingerahmt. An den Stiel der aufrechtstehenden Palmetten sind zwei Voluten geklammert, die in je eine Lotosblüte auslaufen und sich in einem zweiten Zweig mit ihrem Nachbarn zu einer doppelten, hängenden Lotosblüte krümmen.
