Description
English: The text on a notice at the castle makes it clear little is known about its age (it’s from the middle ages), and that its construction was rather provisory, with spolia being used a lot, as can be seen from the parts of (probably Roman) columns in some towers. A lot of the castle has been destroyed or simply collapsed, though the view from the harbour side is still impressive. As gps was used for some pictures one can see where they were taken. On many pictures one can see how empty space in the fallen parts has been used for other purposes.
