When a wedding has been limited to a few rela-tives, or has been strictly private, the bridegroomshould send his card to those of his gentlemen friendswhom he wishes to introduce to his new home. Therecipients of such cards should call upon the bridewithin two weeks. After one has been invited to a dinner party, onemust call within a week after the occasion,—call inperson, and ask if the hostess is at home. A dinnerparty is one of the most solemn obligations of society;if you accept an invitation to one, only death or mor-tal illness is a legitimate excuse for not attending it,and. you must have nearly as good a reason for notcalling promptly after it.
