| Description |
English: Up freight passing York Racecourse (Holgate) Platform. View NE from the popular footbridge, towards Holgate Bridge and York station (right) and York Yards (left). The Up Class F freight, running on the Up Doncaster ECML line, seems to have come through the Station. The locomotive is Gresley V2 2-6-2 No. 60938 (built 1/42 as No. 4899, No. 938 from 1946, withdrawn 10/62). A number of men seem to be working on the Down Doncaster line. An ex-WD J94 0-6-0 saddle tank is just visible under Holgate Bridge. |
