English: York North Locomotive Yard, 1961 View NW away from the round-houses of this great Depot that since closed in June 1967 has been occupied from 1974 by the National Railway Museum. The coaling plant is a major feature and the nearer locomotives include Gresley V2 2-6-2 No. 60858 (built 5/38 as LNE No. 4829, withdrawn 10/63), Peppercorn A1 4-6-2 No. 60127 'Wilson Worsdell', built 5/49, withdrawn 6/65) and his K1 2-6-0 No. 62005 (built 6/49, withdrawn 12/67 = last of the Class). |
