| Description |
English: Yeoford Station A local service calls at Yeoford Station en-route to Barnstaple. The line on the right is for Okhampton and Meldon Quarry. Once this was the former route to Plymouth via Tavistock. Sadly Tavistock has been without a railway for 40 years years come May 2008. Stone trains still run to Meldon Quarry years after the Okhampton line was shut to passengers, way back in June 1972. There is hope a regular passenger service may once again run between Okhampton and Exeter but we shall have to wait and see if this ever happens. At least you can still ride the route on a few selected Sundays in the summer. |
