| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) Each morning I roamed the area around our Western Cabin at Canyon Lodge while my wife got ready. I found a meadow in the forest one morning and in it were several female elk. I supposed there must be a male elk around who was hiding out. The next morning I crept through the trees from another angle and was rewarded by this shot of him and he was a big one. He was very cautious, and finally moved back into the woods when a lodge work truck stopped on a road nearby to watch him. It was a bit spooky to see him move slowly to the trees just to the left of this picture, and then, poof, he had disappeard. I wondered how he could wander through the maze of trees with such a large rack on his head. |
