Español: Las moscas incluidas en el género Thaumatomyia son todas muy similares entre sí, y su diferenciación queda restringida a los expertos, entre 2,5 y 7 milímetros. Son de color amarillo con marcas negras bien visibles sobre el tórax. Carecen de vellosidad, por lo que tienen un cierto aspecto brillante.
Las larvas predan sobre áfidos, y pueden suponer una forma natural de control, pero, por su parte, los adultos pueden ser plaga de diversos cereales, como la alfalfa. |
