Summary
[edit]DescriptionYellow-browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus) - geograph.org.uk - 419136.jpg |
English: Yellow-browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus), Kilnsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This tiny bird (not much bigger than a Goldcrest) breeds in Siberia and normally winters in south-east Asia but a small number of birds set off in the 'wrong' direction and end up in Western Europe. In easterly winds between late September and late October it is usual for a few to turn up at Spurn. The inverted commas on wrong is because some successfully winter in western Europe and return back in spring. |
