35 mm slide; color. Scientific Classification: Kingdom: Animalia; Phylum: Chordata; Class: Aves; Order: Ciconiiformes; Family: Ciconiidae; Genus: Mycteria; Genus species: Mycteria ibis. Animal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 95-105 cm; Identification: The yellow-billed stork has white and black flight feathers and a black tail. It also has a bare red face with a long yellow bill; Habitat: Freshwater marshes, lakes, rivers, and coastal lagoons; Diet: Carnivore: fish, frogs and insects; Reproduction: The breeding season is at the end of the rainy season, usually from June to August. Both sexes incubate their 2-4 eggs for a total of 30 days; Social Structure: In the nonbreeding season, yellow-billed storks are usually in small groups; Status: No special status.
