Español: En la entrada del Realejo, en la calle Pavaneras, esta la escultura de Yehuda Ibn Tibón, una de las figuras más señaladas del judaísmo español. Nacido en Granada en 1120, fue médico, filósofo y lingüista, pero sobre todo, ha pasado a la historia como el «padre de los traductores». Gracias a las traducciones de los textos árabes al hebreo fue accesible a la Europa medieval la ciencia árabe, y a través de ella los textos griegos. Aunque Ibn Tibón tuvo que abandonar Granada, ante la presión almohade en 1148 a los 28 años. |
