Description
English: An example of kado-nyūdō made from Chinese sumac wood, with the letters he-no-he-no-mo-he making up its face. In the town of Yamakita, Ashigarakami District, kado-nyūdō is traditionally put up at the doorstep on either 15 or 16 January to ward off bad luck and diseases for the new year. Donated by Akiharu Okabe, exhibited at the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History.
