A young lady fishing in the Greenbrier River, which runs along the railroad that crosses the river upriver from where she's fishing. The "Piers", the tuffs of greenery in the river, were used in earlier years to "pole" logs downriver to a sawmill in the town of Ronceverte
An old automobile "tire", which had floated downriver during a "floodstage" and lodged on the log of the original construction of the "Pier", the name given locally to these constructions, which were used in much earlier years to "pole" logs downriver to a sawmill in the town of Ronceverte.
These are "manmade" constructions, known locally as "piers", which were used in much earlier years to "pole" logs (timber) downriver to a sawmill in the town of Ronceverte (approximately one mile downriver).
This opening in the trees is where the railroad is located.
