Description
English: Copper alloy key for a barrel padlock. The object has shank that is rectangular in section, with a flat-sectioned area in the centre. The terminal shows signs of a broken loop for suspension. The head was probably once circular in plan (this disc being at a right angle to the shank; the head is now folded in half, leaving a semi-circle atop the shank. In Britain, the height of the popularity of barrel padlocks was c. 1300-1600
