Description

Xylobolus subpileatus(Berk. & M.A. Curtis)

  • Location: Lower Meramec Park, Missouri, USA.
  • Observation Notes: Many specimens of Xylobolus subpileatus are on this log found with the fertile side facing outward – looking first a bit like a crust-type fungi. But the reverse side showing narrow zones of color. This certainly appears to be a dry and weathered group.
