Description
English: Stone tablet used for military commands. Discovered in 1991 at the site of Linqiangzhai fortress (临羌寨城址) in Haiyuan County, Ningxia. Inscribed in Chinese on the right and left sides of the front face: "第十二副將打硬弓 | 弩石牌共三十五箇" ("Stone tablet [issued by] Number 12 lieutenant general: collect longbows (literally "stiff bows") and crossbows, altogether 35 of them"), and with the Chinese character "將" ("general") in the middle.
