Description
中文（繁體）：新埔鎮上以成功、中正、和平街道為三層河階地，宗祠家廟密集度高，具體呈現客家風水的環境觀。然而，近幾年新埔因田新重劃區開發，這些宗祠原本望向的遼闊景色，如今已築起層層高樓，尤其集中在潘屋（和平街）、陳氏宗祠（中正路）、范氏家廟（成功街）這一軸的朝向。如今站在家廟門口，已望不見遠處案山，取而代之的是水泥叢林，由此可見新埔這幾年的快速發展及地景轉變。

范氏家廟，又稱范家祠，建於1858年（咸豐8年），由范日旺、范月福、范雲開等人籌資建造，並於1860年（咸豐10年）竣工，是新埔街最早建立的宗祠。

新埔范氏家廟位於新埔後街，屋後為丘陵地，前面是新埔街，遠處可以看到犁頭山脈，山巒起伏，環境幽靜，符合風水學上「負陰抱陽」、「前敞後實」原則，前有明堂，鳳山溪環繞，遠處有山案，形勢極佳。

范氏家廟的建築為一條龍型式，面寬五開間，中央三間退縮形成步口廊，步口廊寬敞，通過天井空間進入步口，有五階高差，階梯寬達三間，使整體建築顯得高聳莊嚴。側邊外牆的黑色穿瓦衫為其一大特色。

范氏家廟創建年代久遠，保留了當時的建築特色，見證了清代中葉客家傳統建築的樸質風貌及建築工藝。家廟見證了范氏宗族在新埔一帶的發展，也是客家族群敬祖睦宗文化的展現。
