Summary
[edit]DescriptionWykeham House - geograph.org.uk - 718237.jpg |
English: Wykeham House Now the Careers Service for the university but originally this house was built in 1865-6 for a businessman Henry Hatch who let it to various people including Queen Victoria's son Prince Leopold during his undergraduate years.
The date 1894 refers to a later addition. The fussy gothic frontage includes a statue of William of Wykeham, founder of New College, with the motto Manners Maketh Man carved below.
