Drei-Räder-Uhr beim Juwelier Abeler Poststraße Ecke Schwanenstraße, Wuppertal, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Februar 2016 Das linke Rad zeigt die Stunde, das rechte die Minute; im goldenen Rahmen in der Mitte kann man dann aus beiden Räderstellungen die Zeit ablesen. Zur Entstehung der Drei-Räder-Uhr wird von der Familie Abeler folgende Geschichte erzählt: "Die Enstehung dieses Uhren-Unikums geht auf einen Beinahe-Unfall während der wöchentlichen Dienstags-Autofahrt nach Münster zurück. Das war der Wochentag, an dem Georg Abeler regelmäßig die von der gesamten Großfamilie hochgeehrte Mutter in Münster besuchte. Er kannte die Strecke im Schlaf. Um so größer war der Schock, als er plötzlich hinter einer Kurve kurz vor dem Ziel eine Vollbremsung durchführen mußte. Das Rad eines Leiterwagens hatte sich selbstständig gemacht und war die Böschung herabgerollt. Das Pferd war durchgegangen, der zertrümmerte Leiterwagen mit seinen drei übrigen Rädern blockierte die Straße. Die Deichsel zeigte in den Himmel. Mit weichen Knien - es war gerade noch mal gutgegangen - fuhr Georg Abeler weiter. Das Ereignis aber ging ihm nicht mehr aus dem Kopf. Abends in Wuppertal zurückgekehrt stand seine Idee fest: aus den drei Karrenrädern und einer Deichsel bauen wir eine Uhr. Viele Überlegungen und Berechnungen waren notwendig, die Uhrenkuriosität aber wurde fertiggestellt und fand überall in der Presse Beachtung. Welche Freude, als die Familie von einem deutschen Verkaufsingenieur aus Japan sogar einen Artikel der Japan Times vom 27.01.1962 mit der Abbildung der Drei-Räder-Uhr aus Wuppertal erhielt."
