[edit]DescriptionWriggly path or straight desire line?.jpg |
English: Down Lane Park. 9 August 2013.
People who design public parks often lay out paths which curve interestingly around groups of trees. So I smile to myself when other people choose their own routes - with many feet gradually wearing away new, perhaps straight paths. It could be the other way round. Human beings are like that. ____________________________________________ Links § "The key to the desire path is not just that it's a path which one person or a group has made but that it's done against the will of some authority which would have us go another, rather less convenient, way." George Redgrave. § Video Caminito al Andar o el Atajo Popular (Little Footpath or Popular Shortcut) by Félix Pérez-Hita. § "Si te dan papel rayado, escribe de traves." (If they give you lined paper, write the other way.) — Juan Ramón Jiménez (Source:The Yale Book of Quotations.) |
