Summary

[edit]
Description
English:

The plant species: The bright red flowers are Texas Paintbrush, Castilleja indivisa; the blue ones are still unidentified (see another image).
This species is common in Texas and typically has shallowly 0(–5)-lobed leaves and bracts. A few of the images in this series show a few deeply lobed bracts but with 3 lobes only, so this still is within the variability of Castilleja indivisa, especially when seen along with the other plants of the same population. – Eastern Paintbrush, Castilleja coccinea on the other hand is rare in Texas and has deeply (3–)5–9-lobed leaves and bracts.
