English: Sgt. Luis Remache is retired by Col. Willard Buhl (right) during a ceremony in Belleau Wood, France, May 25, 2014. Remache is a former member of 5th Marine Regiment, a bi-lateral amputee and a two-time Purple Heart Medal recipient. To celebrate Memorial Day, and to mark the 96th anniversary of the historic Battle of Belleau Wood, members of the Wounded Warrior Regiment gathered at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to commemorate their fallen heroes as part of a professional military education program. Remache service included both Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. |
