Description
This is a photograph of a cultural monument.
It is on the list of cultural monuments of Worms.

Designation: Catholic St Peter's Cathedral of Worms, Emperor's Portal, sculpture 1981 by Gustav Nonnenmacher, text from Nibelungenlied
Construction time: 1130 to 1181
Description of the whole cathedral: Late Romanesque double-choir three-nave basilica with transept, crossing tower and four corner towers, chapel and sacristy buildings.

East choir, transept and nave on the foundation walls of the late-ottonian Burchard dome, begun in 1005, and the masonry of the west towers.
East parts 1130-45, nave bay two to five completed in 1160-70, west choir around 1200.
Late Gothic Nikolauskapelle, circa 1280-1315.
Gothic south portal, soon after 1300.
Annen- and Georgskapelle, shortly after 1300.
Late Gothic chapel of the Holy Cross or Silver Chamber, end of the 13th century.
Late Gothic Aegidia or St. Mary's Chapel, second half of the 15th century.
Southern cloister portal (Schloßgasse 6), late Romanesque stepped portal, late 12th century.
Domestic equipments
South of the cathedral remains of a piscina in early Christian-early medieval tradition.
In front of the west choir 'Siegfriedstein', limestone block.
Spolia in the garden (former cloister): Romanesque building sculpture.
In the enclosure wall at the Platz der Partnerschaft sandstone reliefs, Nazi propaganda of 1935.
