| Description |
English: The site of the 1982 World’s Fair, the Knoxville International Energy Exposition, this park was created on land in what was originally the Second Creek Valley, and later became a 70-acre Louisville and Nashville (L&N) Railroad yard and industrial site, before it was redeveloped into the fairgrounds in the early 1980s. Following the fair, the temporary structures, attractions, and pavilions were removed between 1983 and 1991, with only the Sunsphere, Exhibition Hall, and Tennessee Amphitheater being the remaining structures from the fair. The park features lawns, an artificial pond, playgrounds, art installations, and a plaza with a fountain. |
