Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Wood pigeon (Columba palumbus). This wood pigeon was perched on the hedge surrounding the playing field beside Mill Hill/Mill Loke > 904177. Nearby, a dead pigeon is lying by the roadside, presumably the mate this one is anxiously waiting for. The wood pigeon is the UK's largest and commonest pigeon, and can be seen in fields and woods as well as in towns and cities where they frequent parks and gardens. The birds feed on cabbages, sprouts, peas and grain, buds, shoots, seeds, nuts and berries.
