Summary
[edit]DescriptionWood Lane and Barkestone Wood - geograph.org.uk - 28077.jpg |
English: Wood Lane and Barkestone Wood. Named after the villages below, this belt of mixed woodland clads the steep hill that dominates this edge of the Vale of Belvoir. Leaving Barkestone-le-Vale, Wood Lane runs "Roman road" straight until it turns sharply at the foot of the hill and climbs nearly 300 feet through the trees. To achieve a good overall view the photo was taken at SK 791 334. The grid boundary with SK 79 32 is just beyond the tree in the centre. |
