Description
This is an image of the Wonga Shoal light house prior to the wreck in 1912. In the image you can see the two light house keepers Henry Franson and Charles McGowan. The lighthouse was struck by the ship 'Dimsdale' on 17th November 1912. The two light keepers Henry and Charles were killed in the accident. Captain John Jones master of the Dimsdale was charged with murder for the head keeper of the lighthouse Henry Franson, the captain pleaded not guilty. After five investigations over a year the captain was found not guilty by the Criminal Courts of South Australia in 1913.
