Description
English: World map about women in the military. Point-based assessment is focussed on equal treatment of men and women with regards to multiple indicators (based on stated sources, collated April 2024).
Note: There are highly different understandings on what kind of military service is suitable for women. Due to very disparate sources, this map may also be unduly weighted and equalize very different national situations of servicewomen.
One example: Algeria focuses strongly on enabling military careers for servicewomen (in non-combat roles like support, medical, logistics, communications), but does not report percentages nor does it engage internationally: This causes a very low point number in the map, although it is likely that Algerian servicewomen enjoy a subjectively better service than servicewomen from a country scoring much higher.
