Description
English: Vertical, black and white photograph showing women and children sitting on the rear steps of an unidentified St. Louis tenement. One woman is holding a small dog while another dog sits at her feet. The staircase runs through the center of the image. A window with shutters can be seen on the left, while a brick wall is on the right. The entrance to an apartment can be seen at the top of the stairs, and a large pan or washtub hangs from the small landing.
