Description

Photograph of a seated woman in an actress-pose and wearing lipstick, by T & J Holroyd of Harrogate. The photographers were brothers Thomas Holroyd (1821–1904) and James Holroyd (c.1825–1874). Thomas was a portrait and landscape painter, and James was a photographer, both from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. Although they were both credited, it was James who took most of the photographs.

Note: This is an odd pose, which gives the impression that her right arm is missing - but that may be just the angle of the photograph. She is wearing a wedding ring on her left hand. Behind and below her left hand are possibly the fingers of her right hand.
