Anmerkung: Das Mineral stammt aus der Sammlung von Carl Duisberg, die dem Mineralogischen Museum von der Bayer AG im April 1954 als Dauerleihgabe zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Auf dem Original-Etikett wurde es als Bromellit aus Cumberland/England beschrieben. Da Zweifel an der Richtigkeit der Beschreibung bestanden, wurde mit freundlicher Unterstützung durch die derzeitige Museumsleiterin Renate Schumacher eine röntgendiffraktometrische Untersuchung durchgeführt, die zweifelsfrei ergab, dass es sich um das Mineral Witherit aus Cumberland handelt. Bestätigung der Angaben und Analyse-Ergebnis sind im VRT-Ticket 2012041610006747 hinterlegt.

Note: The mineral comes from the Carl Duisberg collection, which was made available to the Mineralogical Museum by Bayer AG in April 1954 as a permanent loan. On the original label it was described as bromellite from Cumberland/England. Because of doubts to the correctness of the description, an X-ray diffraction study was carried out with the kind support of the museum director Renate Schumacher, which showed without a doubt that it was the mineral witherite from Cumberland. Confirmation of the information and analysis result is deposited in VRT-Ticket 2012041610006747.
